Today at Irvine School we started our Breakfast Club, we have started with Gr 7 - 9 Students. We are hoping to expand to other grades in the future once we sort out any kinks in our plan! We already have fruit out at school by the office all day for all students to enjoy which is sponsored by the Parent Council & a Grant they received. It is very popular with all the students ❤️ We decided to start a Breakfast Club as not all students are hungry when they first wake up (we know parents give them breakfast) but some students have long bus rides before they get to the school. So we thought we would add a Breakfast Club, which is part of the Nutrition Program we have at the school, all students in the school get a weekly snack on a Wednesday. which is also very popular with students. Today at Irvine School we got some of our farm animals, our 2 goats from last year, 2 new calves, chickens & bees, 2 new pigs. What a way to close out the badminton season with our crew! Irvine Tigers had TEN teams participating in the South Zone Championships in Lethbridge today. EVERY team finished first or second in their pool to advance to playoffs. We are so proud of ALL of you and are happy to have shared in your journey!

We have reached and surpassed our goal of $2000! Huge thanks to everyone who has donated and supported our Irvine School Jump Rope for Heart fundraising campaign. We will have a school wide assembly on Wednesday May 3rd where we will draw for prizes like a slip and slide, mini hockey set, misting water bottles, playground balls and skipping ropes. For every $5 raised under each student online, their name has been entered in a draw for a chance to win these prizes. Irvine School will be participating in Toonies for Games next Thursday, May 4th. We are asking students to bring in a toonie to donate to the Games. It was a great day at Irvine School where every student in the school from K-9 participated in Jump Rope for Heart. Our junior high classes were paired together with an elementary class where they rotated through different stations and participated in a variety of skipping and jumping activities. For every $5 donated under your child’s name, they will receive 1 ballot entry for the following prizes at school: Mini hockey net and sticks, slip n’ slide, misting water bottles, playground balls and skipping ropes. This is all in addition to the student thank you gift cards that you will receive from Heart and Stroke. We are so close to our goal of $2000! The online donations will be open for a week and then we will announce the final total raised for Heart and Stroke Foundation on behalf of Irvine School, in addition to school prize draws! Tournament hosted by CTK in Brooks. Once again, our Tigers performed exceptionally well (particularly at the U13 level where we had teams in the gold medal games in 4 out of 5 events! 🤩).

Final badminton event of the year for our grade 6 Tigers! We look forward to having you all represent our school next year on the junior high badminton team. Thank you to Mrs. Yeast for coaching and for hosting this tournament and to all of the parent volunteers who helped out.
