Notice to Families: There will not be an announcement today in regards to Irvine School being closed for tomorrow, Thursday Feb 11th. Following our inclement weather policy, a decision will be made by 6:30am tomorrow morning if the temperatures are too low to ensure student safety. Due to weather data and extreme cold temperatures it has been decided that we will be closed for tomorrow, Tuesday February 9th. We are unsure at this time when the temperatures will allow students to safely return to school. So teachers took the last hour of today to get students prepared "just in case" we are required to miss multiple days of school this week. Kindergarten students were sent some materials home to work on if parents decide these materials will be helpful but this work is optional. Grades 1-3 students have also been sent work home and teachers will be in touch with students and parents via see saw and will also make themselves available during the day on Google Meet. Grades 4-6 students will be completing numeracy and literacy work as well as some core classes via Google Meet with their teachers. Grades 7-9 students will revert to their virtual learning schedules that they partook in prior to Christmas break. Schedules were all handed out again at the end of the day today. All students are expected to be present for their Google Meet classes. If a student is unable to make a scheduled class please email ([email protected]) or call the school to report their absence. As the temperature is expected to remain cold this week, weather information will be reviewed daily and parents will be updated accordingly.

School Clothing! If you ordered school clothing online it is ready! It will be at the school tomorrow and sent home with your kids. If this was a Christmas present for your student or you only have junior high children, you will need to make arrangements with us to pick it up. If you can’t get to the school by 2:00 pm tomorrow, we will arrange pickup in Dunmore afterwards. Please email [email protected] if you need to make alternate arrangements.

Crazy Hair Day tomorrow! Come to school in your wildest/wackiest Christmas hair! Also a reminder that Friday Dec 18th is early dismissal. Busses will be picking students up at 2:00pm 😃

We have switched two of our dress up days for Christmas. Tomorrow Dec 9th will be Ugly Christmas Sweater Day and next Wednesday Dec 16th will be Crazy Hair Day!

Elementary students were recognized today for outstanding effort. Two students per homeroom were chosen to receive this award based on their effort and accomplishments in Term 1 🙂 We also streamed it on a google meet for the school to watch as we went from room to room handing out awards! They all got to watch their peers and congratulate them 🎉

On Friday morning our junior high students were recognized for academics and outstanding effort. Here are the students who received these awards. The group photos reflect the students who received academic recognition and the individual shots are the students who were chosen for having outstanding effort in Term 1 🙂
